This document covers the help text for the checkout process, including the shipping calculator.
There are two sections, the first being help for the checkout process Steps 1 through 5 and secondly help for the Shipping Calculator.

Checkout

Step 1 - Login & Billing

This is the first step in the checkout process. If you have not logged in already, you will be taken to the login page. If you have not logged in previously you will need to create a login. This involves entering your email address and a password. To validate your email, you will also need to respond to an email that is sent to your nominated email account. This process can take as little as a few minutes. There are two levels of security, one required to login and another level where you can change your contact email, billing address etc. This second level is intended to resist those who may wish to do pretend to be you so that they can purchase goods and get them delivered to their address, rather than yours.
Billing Address / Change Billing Address
On your first use of the checkout process, you will need to enter your Billing/Invoice address. Once recorded, it will be there for future orders.

Step 2 - Shipping Options

This step allows you to determine if you want the order to be shipped, and will allow to choose from a range of shipping methods for Australian destinations. Where the shipment is particularly large or complex the on-line shipping calculator may not be able to calculate the cost of shipping.
In this case we offer a range of manual quoting options that can allow you to consider the shipping cost prior to committing to the order.

If you wish to pick up the order from our Office/Warehouse - Note the goods will not be packed for shipping so that the order can be checked when it is picked up.

Please hold for my freight company to pickup
Goods will be prepared for shipment with your invoice displayed through the window faced shipping label. Your courier company will need to quote our Order/Invoice number to have us release your order to them. You will need to confirm the delivery address shown below.

Please ship to me - (default)
Goods will be packed for shipment. There is a range of options for you to resolve with respect to choosing how we will ship to you and the associated costs.
The shipping methods can include Express Post options, Parcel Post & Couriers. These are explained in the Shipping Calculator.
There are other issues with respect to situations where our on-line calculator can not offer any shipping methods. Typically this is due to the size of the shipment and/or it’s complexity.

Delivery Address
If you require shipping to a Post Office Box, we can only do this with Australia Post as the carrier. Couriers can not deliver to PO boxes.

Billing Address / Change Delivery Address
Most people want goods shipped to their Invoice/Billing Address if you need to have a different address, then uncheck the box to display a previously saved Delivery Address or click on the Change Delivery Address button.
Where you wish to change your delivery address to you will need to pass thought a security screen as there is a need to be assured of the users identity. Once you have changed your delivery address for this order, it will be recorded and will available for your future orders.

Delivery Notes
You can add any comments here - we always read them prior to processing your order. Examples:  
“Entrance via Bloggs Street”)
“If no answer please leave on front veranda”
“We are not open Mondays”

Please ship Free of Charge via “Name of FREE Shipping method”
and the same popup where “”As you have a mix of free and non free shipping in this order we have subsidised the cost of shipping”
Free - There are several kinds of free shipping, however the following applies to all of them:
We will deliver to you anywhere in Australia at no extra charge the item or items that we have offered free delivery. For any free delivery the delivery method will be shown, for example Free Express Post 3Kg Satchel, or Free Parcel Post. Where there are additional items on the order that are not free delivery, you will be charged shipping fee for those items. Where you choose a different delivery service other than the one offered free, then you will be charged the difference between the free and chosen service. Under no circumstances will we credit any differences.

Our on-line shipping calculator cannot provide you with a quote.
Our on-line shipping calculator takes care of most smaller orders, but there are larger and more complex situations where the on-line system will not be able to provide any delivery options.
In these situations we will manually determine a means of shipping to you and work out what it will cost.
To meet your needs, you are asked if speed of delivery or economy are your major considerations. Often there are choices, sometimes due to the size and destination there may be only one carrier suitable.

By default we will calculate the delivery costs, email you a copy of the complete order, and then proceed to Invoice and ship the order.  Alternatively we may need to manually calculate the shipping cost. Under these circumstances you are offered the following choices:

Where you are happy for us to caclulate the cost and go ahead straight away you can select one of the following:
Ship directly to me with Australia Post - no need for shipping quotation
Ship to me with the Courier - no quote required

This means that we will calculate the cost and email you a copy of your full order including shipping costs. Where you have provided us with a credit card on-line or you have credit,then we can proceed to process your order, and would likely ship the same business day. Where you are paying by Cheque, Money Order or by EFT, then you will be able to arrange payment.

Where you want to expressly approve the shipping quote, then you can select one of the following options:
Please quote me by the lowest price shipping method
Please quote me by the quickest shipping method

Here we will email you the your order including the quoted shipping costs and will not proceed further until you provide us your approval. Where you have provided a credit card on-line or you have Trading Terms, then responding to this email can have your order free to process the same business day.
In all of these situations, you proceed through the checkout as normal but the manual quote will require a little office hours time to prepare and send off.

Step 3 - Payment Information

This step requires you to select a payment method. Additionally there may be other issues that need to be presented and approved by you prior to proceeding,
The payment options are summarised as follows:

  • Credit Card Online - Please note that normally we do not charge your credit card until we are ready to ship your order. All credit cards are processed in our office we do not do online credit card processing. This means that you can probably change your order if you let us know in time!! Note, some items require payment upon ordering, these are clearly labeled and you would have OK’d this before you were allowed to place it in the cart.
  • Credit Card - offline
    Please see the description above with regards to Credit Cards generally. We understand that there are concerns about placing your credit card information on-line. If you would prefer to forward your credit card information by other means we are happy to help.

    • Post
    • Phone
    • Please phone me
  • Cheque (by Mail) - Normally we accept business cheques (ones that have an ABN number on them) for immediate payment. At our option we may wish to the payment cleared prior to processing the order.
  • Money Order - Money orders obtained from Post Offices, you can provide cash or other payment kinds and have a Money Order which you may then post to us.
  • EFT - note this is in Australia in Australian Dollars by electronic transfer - This does not include depositing money into our account at bank where we are charged an additional fee which we will NOT absorb. Note over seas payments are acceptable, but must comply with our policy
  • Pay on Pickup - This option is only available if you selected Pickup on Step 2 - you can go back and change this if you need!


Payment Notes
This is a place where you can tell us something or ask us something - we always read the notes prior to processing your order.

Additional Agreement Terms
Depending on the goods or services you are ordering, there are additional terms and conditions that we need to inform you of and have you approved prior to being able to accept your order. If you have any issues with these, please contact us.

Step 4 - Confirmation

This step allows you to review your order prior to committing it. If there are any issues, now is the time for you to back up to make corrections to your order. It is also important to note that we can readily change orders providing you let us know before we have invoiced and shipped them.
This page also details the procedure with regards to what happens next and how the overall process will operate. When you press the Submit Order button, you will be automatically send an email confirming all your order details.

Step 5 - Order Completed

At this time you will see a complete summary of your order, in fact this is a copy of the order confirmation that has been emailed to you.
There are a few important issues to note:
1. Where the shipping cost has not been determined (yet) - The confirmation order is not complete in fact it is a DRAFT order still requiring the shipping cost. When that has been manually calculated and emailed then you will have the FINAL order value.
2. Where you are awaiting a shipping quote, you may have elected to formally approve it prior to wanting to commit to the order. In this case we will not process your order until you approved the quote.
3. EFT payments need to include the description that includes the PCX order number so we can match payment with order.
4. Cheques and Money Orders need to be made payable to PCX Pty Ltd and post to our warehouse/office address.
5. Where we are waiting for your approval or payment prior to continuing with the processing of your order. If we have not received payment or approval for a quote for some time, we are bound to cancel the order.

Shipping Methods

We offer a range of shipping methods the on-line shipping calculator will offer a range of shipping methods, prices and transit times that are determined by the size of your order, it’s complexity and the delivery destination. Additionally shipping costs for some items that can be ordered can not be calculated using the on-line Shipping Calculator. These items will need to have a manual quote for shipping costs. We can also ship by other methods that are not available on-line, these include shipment of pallet and larger consignments.

The standard on-line calculator offers the following shipping methods:

Express Post Satchels (all)

These satchels can often provide a faster service for smaller/lighter orders and for distant locations can be cheaper than other shipping methods. Australia Post has a next business day delivery for particular destinations Postcodes. Next day does not guarantee next morning, but when their delivery is made in your area. They have a tracking number which will be emailed to you and you will be able to see this when you look at your orders under My Account on-line.

Parcel Post Satchels (all)

These satchels can often provide more economical shipping to distant locations as they are at fixed price. Note they are not trackable and don’t include insurance with regards to loss or damage. Also see below Receipted Delivery that is applied for orders of $100 or more.

Parcel Post

This service offers shipment of single parcels of up to 20kg to any location in Australia. These are not trackable and don’t include insurance for loss or damage no insurance for loss or damage is included. Where your order value exceeds $100.00 we automatically add a cost for Receipted Delivery which provides a limited tracking system. You would be emailed this tracking number and you would be able to see this when you look at your orders under My Account on-line.

Parcel post will attempt to deliver to the delivery address, if there is no answer, they will leave a note indicating the parcel is available for pickup at a nominated Post office (not necessarily the closest). You may add in the Delivery comments that you want to have the goods left in a particular place if there is nobody there. We can not guarantee your instructions will be followed and you should understand that you are accepting full responsibility if goods are missing.

Receipted Delivery

Normal parcel post and parcel post satchels have no tracking method. This means that there is no quick way of finding your order in the Australia Post system. For orders of $100 and over we add Australia Post Receipted Delivery. This offers a simple tracking method for your order. Note though it dose not get the goods there any quicker nor provide any insurance.

Couriers Please

This service offers shipments of up to 3 pieces and 25Kg within Sydney and a single piece of up to 20Kg to destinations in the rest of Australia. For most Sydney destinations Couriers Please offer, pickup AM gets delivery PM the same day, pickup PM would have the consignment delivered AM next business day. The orders have tracking numbers. You would be emailed this tracking number and you would be able to see this when you look at your orders under My Account on-line. Note Couriers Please system is based on one or more Local Delivery Coupons plus some number of EZ link coupons that make up the total payment need to ship to the destination. You will need to have an adult present for signing for the consignment. Couriers can not deliver to Post Office boxes.

Express Post Parcel

This service provides for Next Business Day delivery for specific PostCode destinations. he on-line calculator will show the appropriate transit time for this delivery method. Other destinations can also be faster than normal Parcel Post as the goods go by Air for distant destinations. Consignment tracking is provided and you would be emailed this tracking number and would be able to see this when you look at your orders under My Account on-line. AusPost’s web site provides tracking of Express Post Satchels.
