This section discusses how to navigate around www.pcx.com.au, how to search for items and how to work out the price and place an on-line order.

Browsing through items |

To browse through entire product categories and sub categories, simply use the collapsing menus on the left of the all pages.
These are organised in a hierarchical manner for example under media we have various kinds of media (e.g. DVD, CD, Tape etc.)
Under each of these there are sub-categories, for example under DVD we have DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RAM etc
Clicking on any Category items will expose its subcategories, clicking on any sub-categories will expose its sub-sub categories.
There are other methods of finding specific items, these are discussed below. |
How Search Works |
You will note that for every product displayed in detail on pcx.com.au there is a section called Key Words.
These words are intended to be uses for searching. |

Finding PCX Part Numbers |
You may note that PCX's part numbers are typically 5 numbers and occasionally have an additional section:
XXXXX-YYY
Where an item is available in more than one pack size, then the -YYY indicates the quantity in the pack for example Ritek DVD-R 8X inkjet printable discs is available in 3 pack sizes:
11127 individual disc
11127-50 pack of 50 discs
11127-500 carton of 500 discs (actually 10 packs of 50 discs)
Search for "11127" and you will retrieve all three stock items. You can also use manufacture's part numbers, for example looking for Verbatim "41939" or Sony product codes like "DVM60" |
Search Categories |
You will note the menu on the left hand side of all pages. Here the items are categorised for example Media / Packaging etc entry of any of these categories will retrieve all the items in this category.
Often this produces far more items than you want, so simply add more key words to your search, for example:
"Media DVD-R Inkjet"
"Packaging DVD green" |
Search Across Categories |
Example: You were looking for everything to do with 8cm CD-Rs:
"cd 8cm" (this would retrieve the media, packaging, labels etc.)
Example: You want CD Jewel cases and their associated paper inserts
"CD jewel 12cm" (this would retrieve discs in jewel cases as well as jewel cases that go with 12cm media) |
Exclusions (Not) |
Often it is easier to select items that do NOT have a particular attribute.
For example if you wanted all DVD cases but NOT black:
"Packaging DVD -Black" (note the minus sign before the word black!!)
Example: Find all the 8X speed DVD-R discs that are inkjet printable but NOT Ritek:
"Media DVD-R inkjet -ritek"
Example: Find all the DVD-R 4X discs but not those that are discontinued (select only those that are saleable)
"DVD-R 4X -discontinued" |
Useful Key Words |
We have adopted some number of key words that may be useful to you:
Media
CD/DVD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD+R/DVD-RW/DVD+RW/DVD-RAM - Types of disc
12cm / 8cm - indicating the disc diameter
Branded - indicating the manufacturer's name appears on the face of the media
unbranded - indicating the face is blank
inkjet - the disc face is inkjet printable
wide - indicating the face of the disc is printable starting from just outside the centre hole
Ritek/Verbatim/Sony etc - Manufacturer of media
Packaging
12cm / 8cm - Disc size
one/two/three/four etc - indicating the number of discs held
library - used for cases that take 8 or more discs
14mm - indicating the standard depth for a DVD case
Ink Toner & Ribbons
Ink / Toner / paper - General divisions
hp / canon / brother - brand of the printer
black / colour / magenta / cyan / yellow - Ink / toner colours - where there are multiple colours in the same cartridge the word 'colour' is a key word.
Paper & Labels
Address One Two Three 33 A4 Label - for address labels
12cm 8cm hockey VHS Label - for disc & tape labels
photo paper 110gsm matte gloss - for photo paper
