This document provides a very brief overview of the significant new features on the pcx.com.au web site.
It is assumed that you are generally familiar with browsing and buying on the web.
We are keen to get your feedback on the site so please let us know your thoughts.

Overview

PCX has had a web site since we started business in 1998.
We have always seen our web site as an extension of our business, where we want to provide as much as we can for our customers.
We know you are busy and want to get your research or shopping done ASAP and when you have the time - 24/7.
We have been in the process of developing this new site for over 2 years and will continue refining and expanding it.
There are three primary areas where we have concentrated our efforts:

  • Making it easier to find what you are looking for.
  • Making it more personalised in regards to customers requirements.
  • Making it easier to find out where your order is up to.
Beyond this, we have changed our log in and password retrieval, our product display categories, our cart capabilities, the feedback and quote system, our help and FAQ sections, added a 'My regulars' section, and made the whole site easier to use.


Finding Things

PCX has over 500 stock codes and is progressively adding more products and lots more services.
We know that we stock many items that are very similar and even though we have had key word searching in the past, we felt that we could make improvements.
Navigation is now based on the Menus, Site Map and Searching.


Menus - The product menu now includes a count of the number of items that any category has. This means that you can know if you are getting closer to your goal.

Search - There are two levels of search capabilities. The first or simple level allows you to enter a key word and search for the products that have this word in their KeyWord lists.
You can now also limit your search to a product category so you will not get as many 'finds'. The answers will be displayed under the main banner. If you do not get any answers, consider revising your KeyWords and/or check spelling.

Advanced Search - This provides you with lists of KeyWords that are relevent to the kind of product section you are searching. For example you can often nominate a brand as well as a size and colour. You can also add your own KeyWords as well.

Express Lane Ordering (using MyRegulars)

We recognise that most of our customers purchase a limited range of products. Often this is 5 or 10 regular products.
So now, you can select products that you are interested in and add them to your My Regulars list. When you return to the site, you can simply go to 'My Regulars' and select the items and quantities you wish to order and then proceed to checkout.

My Regulars = Super Fast Ordering

We expect that this will make pcx.com.au more convenient to use.
Once you have found an item you want to make a regular item, simply click on the plus heart, this adds it to your 'My Regulars', clicking on a minus Heart icon removes the time from your list.
From 'My Regulars', you can add to cart, check item prices and the stock status of these items which is updated daily.

Copy order to Shopping Cart (cloing past orders)

The good news is that we have lots of products, the bad news is that many are very similar.
Once you have placed an order, now you can simply copy all the items on this order to your Cart.
This means that you don't have to browse the web site to find what you need, you an simply go to a previous order or invoice and copy the items to your cart.
Here is how!

  1. Click on MyAccount and login if needed
  2. Click on My Transactions
  3. Click on Select for the invoice/order you would like to clone
  4. Click on Copy this order to cart button to transfer the document's items to your shopping cart

Once you have the items in you cart, you can change the quantities or delete them and/or add them to your MyRegulars.
This can save you lots of time and in effect customise pcx.com.au to suite your needs!


24/7 Service - Order Tracking

We have fully integrated our order processing and acounting on-line, with our office system, so you can see all your orders, independent of whether you placed them on-line or over the counter or by phone.
You can now see 'real time' the status of your order, whether your payment has been recieved, and a host of other issues, including changing your shipping address, email and so on...
Check the status of your order

  • Order correct
  • Payments received
  • Status of order - awaiting payment/awaiting quote etc
  • Order now converted to Invoice
  • Shipping information - Tracking number etc..
To go to see your account information, including order tracking:
1. Click on My Accounts at top right of any page
2. You will need to login if you have not already
3. On the My Accounts page, select My Transactions

Changing Contact Info

Once you have logged in, you can change your Billing Address, Delivery Address and Email address. These are accessible from the MyAccount menu option.
Steps:

  1. Click on My Account (top right of any page) (you will need to have logged in)
  2. Click on your choice:
    Change Password
    Change Email Address
    Change Billing or Delivery Address


My Prices

Once you log in you will see your prices, these include promotional prices, specially negotiated contract prices and trade prices, depending on your special relationship with PCX.
Your price, it will show as you browse as well as on your price lists, and of course when you order on-line or even order over-the-counter. Show Me!


Additional flexibility and security

We now allow you to change your own contact information, including changing your password and email address.
We have implemented additional security with addtional checks so that stolen passwords will resist identity theft.
This is accessible from the My Account page after logging in. Show Me!


Automatically log me in from now on...

This feature saves you time because it automatically logs you in to the PCX site.
There is no need to to go to the Login page anymore!

  • To switch this feature on:
      1. Go to the login page
      2. Enter your email address and password and click on the checkbox 'Automatically log me in from now on'.
      3. Press the Login button
  • To keep using it - close or move away from pcx.com.au without logging out.
  • To switch this feature off - click on Logout at the top right of all pages. This will mean that when you next come back you will need to go to the Login page to log in again.
Note this feature is remembered in your browser so it will operate on just that browser on that computer.
You can have it work on multiple browsers and computers, but each will need to be enabled.   Show Me!
